Our Handgun Fundamentals II class is a concealed carry class built on the fundamentals taught in Handgun Fundamentals I. As such, all students taking this level II class are REQUIRED to have completed our level I class, and be able to demonstrate competency with the fundamentals of handgun shooting, as well as safe firearm handling. We do not allow an option to "test out" of our level I class, as we don't have time to slow down this class to work on target fundamentals students should have to be able to effectively get shots on target at speed. If you have signed up for this class without having gone through Handgun Fundamentals I, the class fee will be refunded via credit to be put towards Handgun Fundamentals Level I, with some credit remaining for use with any of our classes. Handgun Fundamentals II focuses on defensive skills, including drawing from holster, magazine changes, malfunction clearing, exception shooting (one hand, off hand, etc.), and point shooting at a close target. The first day of this class, Sunday from 1 PM to 5 PM on the first floor of the Armory at 410 N. Grant St., will be a mix of classroom presentation and dry-fire exercise to build the fundamentals of defensive shooting in a safe and effective manner, as well as teach you how to practice your defensive skills using dry-fire at home. We do our absolute best to keep this training space completely clear of live ammunition, so bring NO LIVE AMMO to the first day of the class. If needed, we are happy to temporarily store your ammo in the sales space in the basement of the armory, which will be secure during the entire course of this class. The second day of this class, Sunday from 1 PM to 5 PM, at Frontier County Gun Club will be live-fire, and will have you working one-on-one with an instructor for every shot you take. For this portion, you will need at least 200 rounds of ammunition. PLEASE FULLY AND CAREFULLY READ YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL FOR MORE INFORMATION.
