FOUNDATIONAL SPANISH (099)- This course is designed for beginners who have limited or no exposure to the basics of Spanish language and culture. It provides a comprehensive entry into Spanish 1 focusing on essential vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation to develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students will engage in conversational practice, guided by fundamental grammar, to build foundational communication skills applicable to everyday situations. Through interactive activities, multimedia resources, and cultural discussions, students will gain an appreciation for the variety and vibrancy within the Spanish-speaking world. Upon successful completion of this course, students will enroll in Spanish 1. Course Goals: Establish a solid foundation in Spanish language skills for entry into Spanish 1. Cultivate cultural awareness and sensitivity. Prepare for further study and interaction in Spanish-speaking environments. Who should take this course: Students with limited or no prior knowledge of Spanish; middle school students or students new to King who were recommended to take the course to solidify foundational skills and understanding of the language.
