Description
Increase your biking knowledge and have fun at the same time! Learn to steer and break with confidence, maneuver through obstacle courses, over small ramps and teeter totters. Safety is important too, learn how to use a crosswalk, trail etiquette, road safety and hand signals. Daily learning starts indoors and progresses outdoors rain or shine, locations can include: Terry Fox Plaza, local pathways and trails between the Community Centre and Gates Park.
Prerequisite:
- Completion of Port Coquitlam First Gear or
- Ability to ride independently and start from a stationary position on a bike that is familiar to the rider (training wheels not permitted)
Equipment:
- Success happens when bikes are the right size. Riders supply their own bike, helmet and water bottle. Riders must be familiar with the bike and be able to sit on their bike with toes touching the ground to successfully learn.
Pick up and Drop off:
- Drop off in Arena 2
- Pick up in Arena lobby
Bring:
- Bike - success and fun happens when the bike is the right size, chains work and tires are inflated! Guardian to ensure prior to first class.
- Helmet
- Clothing for outdoor riding
- Runners
- Water bottle
