Although learning a foreign language at times is challenging, it can and should be fun! This class relies heavily on Comprehensible Input (CI), which allows students to stay in the target language during class. Students will participate in a variety of activities. CI utilizes stories, songs, TPR (total physical response), TPRS (teaching proficiency through reading and storytelling), games, movement, drawing and more. This class will explore a variety of vocabulary and visit some amazing Spanish speaking countries. Grammar will be interwoven into each lesson, allowing students to learn it more naturally. Students will be speaking and understanding Spanish from day one! For students to be successful, a positive learning environment will be fostered where all students feel encouraged to explore and communicate in the target language. This class is offered at the high school level. High school students will have the opportunity to complete assignments at home to meet the graduation requirements for 1 foreign language credit. Spanish II students must have taken Spanish I already. Estimated work assigned to complete outside of class: 2 hours/week. Teacher: Jennifer Manivong
