If you’ve ever wondered how to create glass-like resin finishes on paintings or the ultra-colorful resin art you see in coasters and resin objects, this workshop is for you. You will learn how to do this and complete your own creations in resin to take home with you. I’ve been finishing my wife’s paintings with resin for more than 10 years, so will be passing on how to do it, and get quality results. RESIN FINISHES: I will provide an unfinished Mini Print for you (a 5”x5” art print mounted on an art board) and, step by step, coach you through sealing and pouring on a beautiful 1/8” thick resin finish. RESIN INKS AND ADDITIVES: You will experience the exciting world of resin art creation with alcohol inks, pigments and dyes. This will be hands-on experimentation, using free-pours and silicon molds to learn the different characteristics and visual enhancements these additives provide. It is addictive! To give your art pieces time to cure we’ll meet back at HCAF a couple of days after the workshop so you can pick them up. I’ll ship them to you if you don’t live in the area. Please bring an apron to protect your clothing and (if possible) a smart phone to keep track of curing times.
