About this event
Come experience the joy in learning calculus on the Rice University campus with other students who love mathematics. The content of this four-week program, Preparing for Success in Calculus, focuses on introductory calculus topics, including limits, continuity, differentiability, and applications of the derivative, with a focus on mathematical communication, proof and justification, and real-world applications. Pre-calculus topics necessary for success in advanced mathematics, including properties and characteristics of function families are reinforced through the lens of calculus. You will engage in rich learning activities, use visualization technology, explore challenging problems, and receive instruction in constructing mathematical proofs. You will also receive guidance with the college admissions process. Each student will receive all program materials and access to a program Google drive with additional resources. Prerequisite to enroll in this program is completion of Precalculus.
