Description
Begin your journey at the stunning Hollyhock House, Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural masterpiece and L.A.'s only UNESCO World Heritage Site. This Mayan Revival-meets-California Modernist home dazzles with its sunken living room, mahogany accents, and light-filled conservatory. Stroll the newly restored gardens and terraces while docents share fascinating stories about Wright’s visionary design and Barnsdall’s creative ambitions. After immersing yourself in architectural beauty, we’ll set sail for the H.M.S. Bounty, a cherished bar and restaurant nestled within the thirteen-story Gaylord apartment building, which opened in 1924 directly across from the Ambassador Hotel. This nautically themed establishment boasts a rich history, having been a favorite haunt for celebrities like Jack Webb and William Randolph Hearst. The interior exudes old-world charm with its dark varnished woods, brass fixtures, and red naugahyde booths, transporting you back to a bygone era. Lunch is included. Meal selection required upon registration.
