About this event
CINEMATIC STEM: EXPLORING SCIENCE & MATH THROUGH FILM LOCATION: Upper School Classroom GRADES: Middle and High School DESCRIPTION: This unique term project will immerse students in six carefully selected STEM-related movies— Interstellar, Hidden Figures, Good Will Hunting, Moneyball, Contagion, and The Gifted — each offering profound insights into mathematics, physics, and biology while showcasing the real-world impact of these disciplines. Through guided discussions and analytical reflections, students will unravel the scientific concepts embedded within each film and explore their relevance in academic and professional fields. Beyond just understanding equations and theories, this project aims to inspire students by illustrating the power of STEM in solving real-world challenges, breaking barriers, and driving innovation. By bridging storytelling and science, we aim to ignite a passion for STEM careers and encourage students to envision themselves as the next generation of innovators, problem solvers, and trailblazers.
