Is it art? Is it sport? You get to decide in this exciting workshop!
Join the Community Arts Council Artists, City Staff and Victory Skateboards for an art infused skateboard deck design class followed by skateboard assembly and demo session with Victory Skateboards. In this workshop registrants will design and paint their very own skateboard deck. Once their deck artwork is complete, they will seal their design once it's dry, add some grip tape, and then Victory Skateboard will stop by and help us assemble and show us some basic skateboarding skills.
Each participant will leave the session with a brand new skateboard they custom designed and built.
For the demo portion of the workshop, all participants MUST wear a helmet in order to participate. If cost is a barrier for you to take part, please reach out to arts-culture@fortstjohn.ca to inquire about funding opportunities that may be available.
No previous experience required, all artistic and skateboarding abilities welcome.
