Description
During this two-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to make your own linocut! Led by Jessie McConville of By Jessie K art, she’ll show how to get started, all supplies included.
All levels are welcome, no experience is required! We'll start with sketching your design, transferring it to the Lino, then carving. Once you finish carving, you'll have ink and paper to press the design. You can do fabric printing if you want to bring any fabric from home. You will then take your new stamp and prints home with you.
We will be using water-soluble ink, but recommend bringing an apron or clothes that would be alright to get a bit messy. You will learn safe carving techniques, but be aware we will be working with a sharp tool. You can come with a specific design in mind, or what to get creative until you arrive. This event is a best fit for teens and adults, but can accept students as young as 13 if they are able to follow safety instructions.
Join us at the Olga Community Center at 9:30am until around 11:30am.
