This 3-day pilot internship offers students the opportunity to engage in hands-on field research and ecological immersion at the Bolinas Field Station (BFS), in collaboration with the College of Marin and unfolding affiliation with educators from the Lawrence Hall of Science and MARE (Marine Activities, Resources, and Education). Students will explore biodiversity in coastal ecosystems, conduct tidepool research, and examine plankton samples under lab microscopes, while practicing field journaling, ecological observation, and collaborative inquiry. This place-based field course focuses on the intertidal and coastal lagoon ecosystems of West Marin as a living laboratory for learning about biodiversity, ecology, and sustainability. Students will gain insight into ecological interconnections while developing field science skills, deepening their sense of place, and cultivating environmental stewardship. The course will also introduce students to scientific practices, climate change awareness, and ways that traditional and local knowledge intersect with ecological understanding. *Transportation to Field Station Available from San Domenico School. Hours would be 8am-3pm
