Begin your formal creative practice with the fundamentals of drawing. Learn the basics of this fine medium while exploring various mark-making tools, such as charcoal, graphite, pen, and colored pencil. Topics covered in this class will include line quality, shading and gradation, cross hatching, and contour drawing. This class is open to all levels. Materials List: Strathmore 400 series drawing paper recycled 18x24 Soft vine charcoal pack of 12 General's charcoal pencils 2b,4b, 6b Generals compressed charcoal pencils Kneaded eraser Pencil sharpener 2 hole metal Sandpaper block The Inkstone on 2431 Durant Ave. near the UC Berkeley campus will have supplies and kits available.
